- {geni:about_me} Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tues., Sept. 25, for Kermit Duane Holm, 82, Viborg, who died on Sept. 19, 2007. The services will be held in Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Viborg.
Visitation is Monday until 8 p.m., with the family present from 7-8 p.m., at the Viborg Funeral Home.
Holm was born on Aug. 16, 1925, near Irene to Harl and Marie (Danielson) Holm. He attended country school and graduated from Irene High School. He married Phyllis Gorham of Madison on Feb. 6, 1949. He joined his father in the farming operation and eventually took over, farming with his son long after retirement. He served on the church council, Pioneer Memorial Hospital board, Farmers' Lumber Yard for 31 years, and was a member of Viborg Danish Dancers for 10 years. They moved to Pioneer Villa in Viborg in July 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Viborg; a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Ayres of Aiken, S.C.; a son, James (Sheila) of Wakonda; three granddaughters; a sister, Harriet Hansen of Centerville; a brother, Harlan (Josephine) of Des Moines, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Gorham of Madison.
